Title : Data and Reporting Analyst

In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 - Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point for the creation and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and analytical reports.
  • Gather and document detailed data requirements, design data models and visualizations to enhance decision-making and reporting capabilities.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns across multiple data sets and where necessary, identify and research anomalies.
  • Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely operational reports, adapting templates to meet the needs of the program teams and stakeholders.
  • Implement data validation techniques to verify data accuracy, employ tools for data cleansing and preparation to improve quality and reliability of data.

Responsibility 2 - Data Management and Governance

  • Collaborate with the Systems and Data team to translate operational requirements into effective data collection, management, and visualization strategies.
  • Support data management best practices, working towards standardizing data processes across Recovery Services for improved operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials to support data management and reporting systems.
  • Assist in training business users on how to utilize dashboards and other business intelligence tools.

Responsibility 3 - Operational Support and Improvement

  • Identify and transform existing manual reporting processes. Increase data accuracy and efficiency by developing and implementing automation workflows to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management and reporting processes, identifying, and integrating new technologies and methodologies where applicable.
  • Act as a technical advisor for data-related projects, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and operational needs.

What we are looking for :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years in areas such as data analysis and modeling for reporting of which three (3) years' experience in developing reports in Power BI using DAX.
  • Prior work experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset.
  • Knowledge of data collection and processing, and management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence tools, Power BI in particular.
  • Proficiency in data visualization techniques and theory.
  • Knowledge of database querying languages, SQL in particular.
  • Knowledge of programming languages an asset, Python in particular.
  • Knowledge and passion for data and an understanding of the role in data in accountability and decision-making.
  • Service focused with the ability to communicate difficult and complex concepts in a clear and effective manner.
  • Ability to effectively develop strong cross-functional working relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple conflicting demands.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and translate it into business priorities and needs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills to facilitate relationship building within and across teams and colleagues remotely.
  • Shows initiative and can adapt and innovate in sometimes challenging circumstances, in a fast-paced environment.
