Director Strategic Finance and Treasury

General Duties:

Under the direction of the VP, Chief Financial Officer the Director, Strategic Finance and Treasury is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership related to corporate investment activities and commercial arrangements, managing financial forecasting and planning, treasury and cash management leadership, overseeing Hydro's insurance program and supporting the finance department with complex financial analysis required for financial reporting and regulatory matters.

As a key leader in the finance team, you will use strong leadership to oversee financial analysis and strategy development for matters of strategic importance to Hydro. You act as guardian of corporate liquidity and solvency, manage cash resources, manage corporate debt placement, develop financing strategy and manage financial risks. You also lead Hydro's financial analysis team in the provision of complex analysis that is accurate, timely and effective for financial planning, financial reporting, regulatory, financing and commercial purposes. You are also responsible for directing the placement and management of Hydro's insurance program and the management of all tax compliance, reporting and planning matters for Hydro.

This position works as an integral member of the Finance department's senior leadership team as well as works with executive and other senior leadership and actively fosters a proactive and productive working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders so that the team's work meets the needs of our many stakeholders.

The Director will identify opportunities for improvements in corporate processes, procedures and practices and will effect change as necessary to ensure continuous improvement in Hydro's operations.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have completed a CPA or MBA program with a specialization in finance, and will have a minimum of 15 years of senior level financial leadership experience in developing and leading strategic financial matters including complex financial analysis, financial planning and forecasting, planning and execution of complex and significant financial and commercial transaction, transaction strategy develop and structuring, treasury and cash management. Strong, team based, interpersonal skills, a service oriented attitude along with an ability to interact with and develop positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders are a must. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are required as well as project management and decision making skills.
