The Internal Content and Channel Management Strategist leads key message and narrative development for the Medavie brand throughout the organization - Medavie, Medavie Health Services, Medavie Blue Cross, Medavie Health Foundation and other Medavie brands. They are the organization's intranet (myMedavie) Content Strategist and aims to reinforce the value and contribution of everyone to the business and Medavie's value proposition, promoting a connection to the brand.
The Internal Content & Channel Management Strategist is responsible for designing strategic plans to enhance communication and engagement within the organization. The ideal candidate has a keen understanding of content and channel management principles, strong understanding of internal communications best practices to drive a consistent corporate narrative, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of driving results through strategic content creation and distribution. This role involves a high degree of collaboration and a comfort in navigating internal stakeholders and competing priorities within the organization. The role works closely with team members to solicit stories across our organization, share our stories, recognizing our collective successes and build the Medavie brand throughout Canada.
Main Responsibilities-
- While final decisions are made by the Manager, Employee Communications, and Director, Corporate Communications, this role leads all aspects of intranet strategy development and execution.
- Develop and implement content strategies in alignment with corporate priorities and target audience preferences. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the internal communications and employee engagement fields to recommend innovative approaches.
- Develop and maintain the internal communications content calendar based on best practices and set parameters to provide a manageable flow of communication that allows leaders and employees to absorb information in a timely manner. Act as the main editor for Medavie Metro and The Messenger newsletters.
- Conduct regular content audits and performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize content and strategy for better engagement. Provide monthly myMedavie analytics and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other internal communication advisors and partners on projects and tactics involving myMedavie to ensure cohesive corporate narrative and brand consistency across all channels. Offer myMedavie training and support to peers.
Qualifications
Required-
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, or other related field
- Proven experience of 7+years in managing corporate intranet (build/maintain) and content calendar
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute robust integrated content plans
- Excellent research skills
- Project management skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights, and delivering results
- Solid time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and produce materials to meet tight deadlines
- Share a love for online communications with an aptitude for technology
- Ability to handle multiple assignments while meeting corporate deadlines
Preferred-
- Writing/editing certifications
- Background in editorial planning or journalism
- Flexible to work outside of normal hours and open to occasional travel
- Knowledge of Igloo software/Platform
- Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Webex.
