New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Process Control Technician. Position Type: Term to June 2025

Location: Saint John

Salary: $2,454.00 to $3,458.00 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,776.00 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education.

Responsabilités

As part of the School of Engineering Technologies and reporting to the Academic Chair, you will be responsible for the planning and preparation of instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Power Systems (Theory and Lab)
  • Pulp & Paper Processing
  • Petroleum Processing
  • Municipal Water and Wastewater
  • Control Elements
  • Process Control Systems
  • Project Management
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in a related field with relevant and recent work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working in either a water and wastewater treatment plant, pulp and paper processing plant, and/or a petroleum processing plant.

Professional Skills:

  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Assets:

  • Experience working in a water and wastewater treatment plant.
  • A valid Third Class Power Engineering license.
  • Minimum of three years of related and recent work experience.
  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE - Education (Instructional) collective agreement for the College.
