We are currently looking for a Human Resources Strategist to design organizational and business-tailored human resources programming. You will create an alignment of strategy, structure, people, rewards and management processes to improve the employee experience as well as efficiency and productivity in the workplace. You will work closely with other members of our HR team as well as our managers and employees to identify and solve problems that impact engagement, productivity, and performance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate strategic initiatives that include organizational culture change and transformation, employee and leadership development, and attraction and retention initiatives. Areas of focus include psychological health, safety and wellness; diversity and inclusion; employee growth and development; reward and recognition; performance management; succession planning; and coaching and mentoring.
  • Review and update existing policies and programs to align with human resources best practices, benchmarks, or provincial government direction.
  • Assist in the implementation of our new Oracle-Cloud Human Capital Management System. Lead in the development and implementation of a Learning Management System for all employees and trainers within operations.
  • Compile and analyze HR data and metrics from Oracle and apply this data to identify and articulate trends, key findings and recommendations.
  • Innovate, streamline and audit human resources processes using Oracle and other technologies.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of in-house or outsourced curriculum to develop and grow our employees and leaders.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in the areas of Commerce, Social Sciences or Education or related area.
  • You are an HR professional with five years of related progressive experience in delivering human resources services and programs in an unionized environment.
  • You have demonstrated experience in developing strategies and people-centric solutions to improve the employee experience and organizational performance.
  • You have familiarity working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and generating data and analytics.

  • Well-developed organizational, time-management, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Provide leadership, work collaboratively within teams, and consult effectively and independently with all levels of the organization to achieve results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage change through leading, motivating, and empowering others in the administration of WorkplaceNL programs and services.
