BIOVECTRA Inc. has openings for a Quality Control Chemist. This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR, Electrophoretic assays, ELISA (Plate assays).
  • Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
  • Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.
  • Performing routine maintenance and/or calibration of analytical instruments and documenting these activities.
  • Completing paperwork for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.
  • Ensuring appropriate tracking and logging of samples.
  • Identifying test results which are out of specification and alerting a manager or supervisor when this occurs.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor's request.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred
  • Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, PCR, Plate reader preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
