The Bragg Group is an entrepreneurial and diverse group of companies headquartered in Oxford, Nova Scotia. This privately owned group includes: Eastlink, Oxford Frozen Foods, and Inland, along with additional investments in renewable power and real estate. We are seeking a tax professional to join our head office tax team, responsible for managing the corporate tax function for the entire group of companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax working papers, tax analyses and gather information for partnership and corporate income tax returns and facilitate the process with external advisors
  • Assist with tax installment and coordinate payments to tax authorities
  • Assist with the preparation of responses to federal, provincial, and state income tax audits
  • Liaise with internal business units and assist in providing tax support services under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Taxation
  • Contribute to the improvement and enhancement of work processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Correspond professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Correspond with various government agencies to address tax compliance issues
  • Provide assistance to other Tax Reporting team members as needed

Qualifications:

  • A CPA designation, along with 1 year of accounting experience.
  • An interest, and willingness to learn corporate tax.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a hands-on approach
  • Advanced computer literacy and skills
  • Energy and keen interest in learning about our business
  • Excellent teamwork and work ethic, along with a problem-solving mindset
  • Proactive responsiveness to emerging business needs using collaborative approaches
  • Ability to communicate effectively with advisors and management.
