The Senior Manager, ITPMO is responsible for leading the financial plan and governance of the Technology's strategic investment spend.
Key responsibilities of the mandate include i) Strategic Investment Portfolio (SIP) financial intelligence and insights ii) monitoring spend & execution as well as governance of initiatives through the investment lifecycle.
The overall accountabilities support decision making by senior and executive management and key stakeholders within and outside the Division.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Ensure effective and accurate financial management of Technology investment spend of the SIP portfolio including forecasting, reporting, insights, & analysis. Create materials for monthly & quarterly SIP reviews by the Tech Group Head.
  • Accountable for month and quarter end reporting to finance partners such as EPMO and ITS Finance.
  • Work with key stakeholders (Program Directors) to continuously understand upcoming areas of spend / investment need, within affordability.
  • Challenge the relevance and forecast of incoming Ideas & prioritize through a robust intake management process
  • Review forecasts of Active projects monthly and challenge for accuracy and accruals
  • Track forecast and utilization of large strategic programs related to infrastructure, cloud etc.
  • Drive effective resource utilization and capacity with technology partners during planning and ongoing throughout the year.
  • Manage portfolio Budget with the Technology Finance team, explaining actuals and producing post-Q budget forecasts.
  • Maintain processes to meet / exceed all project governance standards as developed by the Divisional and Executive Project Management Offices and audit. KPIs include standards related to IDEs and forecast accuracy
  • Continuously challenge existing processes and standards within and outside the team
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests as required.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree (preferably MBA, or finance/business. Accounting certification is an asset)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of working experience (preferably within financial industry)
  • Strong knowledge of project and portfolio management principles
  • Very strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills (demonstrated ability to use the problem-solving framework)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (executive-level experience)
  • Demonstrated relationship management expertise
  • Knowledge of BNS systems (CAPPM, SmartStream) is an asset
