Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science

(Contractual Position to August 31, 2025)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Faculty and the post award financial administration of grants and contracts. Duties include planning and coordinating activities in the Finance Office; supervising and directing work of the Finance Office staff members; monitoring budgets on a continual basis; managing staff and processes to ensure compliance with applicable policies and contract obligations; continual learning to be aware of the latest projects, policies, and procedures; interviewing/selecting staff; overseeing the hiring process; preparing resources activities within the division; supervising staff; examining and modifying, where possible, work flow and administrative processes to improve efficiencies; conducting internal auditing functions; preparing complex, statistical, fiscal and analytical reports for the Senior Administrative Officer; overseeing expenditures and maintenance of financial commitments in both Banner Finance, FAST Finance Reporting and other software; participating in various committees; overseeing the Faculty's purchasing department; providing guidance and financial assistance to Faculty and Staff; liaising with the various departments on campus and external entities on financial issues; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in financial operations and management; completion of an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration is required; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Proficiency in MS office (in particular, MS Excel) is required, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience in University policies and procedures; funding agency policies; and Banner Finance, FAST Financial Reporting would be considered assets.

SALARY $63,099- $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
