Job Description:

About This Role

We are looking for someone with diverse skills and background with Microsoft SQL database administration to carry out broad range of operational database activities ranging from database administration, performance tuning, high availability, monitoring and capacity management.

  • Support applications and database infrastructure by meeting or exceeding standards and service levels while minimizing operational risk.

  • Partner closely with stakeholders to improve production environment stability.

  • Actively involved on all aspects of support and application issue resolution: identify, assess, recommend, escalate, resolve, report, document and communicate.

  • Strong focus on problem determination including data gathering and analysis.

  • May develop scripts using appropriate tools to automate, address gaps, simplify or enhance the application/system or environment.

  • Provide quality service and solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements.

  • Dive into design, review, and integration of all application requirements like functional, security, integration, performance, quality and operations.

  • Identify, address application/ data issues, cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect application and database integrity.

  • Provide expertise to other functional areas (technology, trends and processes).

  • Follow change management procedures. ensure proper testing, sign-off, monitoring.

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning (Define, Review, Test).

  • Strive to improve production environment stability by working with others to set up, maintain and monitor databases/applications, while meeting availability targets.

  • Follow established processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines; plan, monitor and escalate issues as required.

  • Actively work with business users to provide guidance on best practices for writing SQL queries.

  • Review database reports and provide solutions to improve database performance.

Job Requirements :

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.

  • 5-7 years application support experience

  • Azure certification preferred.

  • Good understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservices.

  • Microsoft SQL server experience and skills with T-SQL and SQL scripting.

  • Knowledge of API, Json and XML.

  • Understanding of Azure database design concepts and best practices

  • Knowledge of Data Studio, Data Bricks, Data Lake and Data Factory

  • Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript or other scripting languages.

  • Experience with Windows Server and Windows Clustering

  • Solid understanding of database backup and recovery

  • Ability to work independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach/ educate others.

  • Strong subject matter expertise, as you prepare to provide clients, team, and/or project team with technical guidance and assist with highly complex troubleshooting/problem resolution.

  • Strength in identifying root causes and implementing targeted and controlled remediation plans.

  • Readiness to review, participate in and implement procedures.

  • Strength in consulting with other functional areas to provide technical expertise on area of specialization by acting as a reference on technology, trends and processes related to your own area.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and can work effectively with vendors to fulfill support requirements.

  • Possession of effective change management discipline.

  • Willingness to work effectively as a team, helping others to resolve critical service issues.

  • Interest and drive to enhance knowledge/expertise by staying abreast of industry and business trends, research industry standards, best practices and new innovations, make recommendations.

  • Confidence acting as a reference for team members or clients.

  • Inspire a positive work environment and help champion quality, innovation, teamwork and service to the business.
