Salary range: $55,744.916 to $65,582.25 annually
As part of the Applied Research and Innovation Department, the Administrative Assistant will:
- Provide confidential day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Applied Research and Innovation.
- Actively participate in planning for long-range achievement of overall goals of the department and College and has the overall responsibility for the day-to-day administrative operations of the department and is the first point of contact for both internal and external clients.
- Respond to matters related to the work of the unit, initiate actions on the unit's behalf and respond independently when appropriate; demonstrates independence and initiative in anticipating needs, while juggling multiple and competing priorities.
- Be responsible for ensuring the daily activities of the Director are organized efficiently. This involves screening and maintaining all email, as well as constant communication with the Director to ensure the Director is well-informed of urgent requests, outstanding items and phone calls. Exceptional organizational skills, and experience in providing advice and support for effective electronic file and time management are essential.
- Assist with administrative functions for the NSCC Research Ethics Board, the NSCC Applied Research Office, the department's research data management process, and communication with research agencies.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary credential in business or office administration.
- You have a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related occupational experience in a fast paced office environment. In addition, you have specific experience in organizing and prioritizing a demanding workload while meeting deadlines.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with PowerBI would be considered an asset.
- Proven experience with organizing and prioritizing a demanding workload while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to translate information into clear and concise objectives that can be communicated to different audiences within all levels of an organization
- Experience with the coordination of projects, specifically with research, tracking and analysis
- Experience in project management would be considered an asset
- Experience in basic accounting would be considered an asset
- Experience with PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
