Job Summary
The Equipment Operator II transports linens and linen supplies from the Central Laundry site to the off-site distribution facilities, which may include highway driving to rural sites such as Clarenville, Carbonear and Placentia. This position is responsible for servicing the vehicle with gas, oil, water, air, and grease and reporting mechanical defects or repairs needed to the supervisor. Evening / Night Driving is required.

Occasionally results in considerable fatigue, requiring periods of rest.
Lifting or moving carts over 50 lbs. is a regular requirement when loading and unloading trucks.
Operates heavy trucks to deliver various items and are therefore required to sit and drive on a regular basis. Walking is required when loading and unloading the carts onto the trucks.
Manual or physical activities include regularly using gross motor skills when loading and unloading delivery vehicles and using machinery or equipment that requires very controlled movement and operating heavy equipment.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Possession of a valid Class 05 driver's license supplemented by completion of a Class 09 endorsement (airbrakes).
A satisfactory driver's abstract is required.
Experience in the operation of light and heavy trucks (e.g. delivery trucks or dump trucks) would be an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
