The Opportunity
As a valued member of our Operations Team on the West Coast of Newfoundland, you will be responsible for performing installation, inspection and preventative/corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment associated with hydro, diesel and gas turbine generation facilities, completing inspection and maintenance reports and operating hydro, diesel and gas turbine plants when required. In addition, this position is responsible for performing routine maintenance on all plant property and equipment including inspecting, painting, lubricating, penstock maintenance, vegetation clearing, assisting with major equipment and structure repairs and other related duties as assigned.
Your qualifications include a Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) certificate. Experience in the operation and maintenance of hydro, diesel and gas turbine facilities would be an asset. You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license. There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40km of the Port Aux Basque, Stephenville or Corner Brook office. Travel is required. Compensation is as per the current Collective Agreement. Applications will require a detailed resume and copy of your red seal certificate.
Apprentices may be considered. Recent experience working in the trade is considered an asset.
