Regional Physician Recruitment Manager, Western Health

Definition of work: Applications are invited for the permanent position of Regional Physician Recruitment Manager. The incumbent will work directly with the Regional Director of Medical Services, Vice President of Medical Services, Chiefs of Staff, Regional Chiefs of Discipline, Chairperson of RMAC, the Department of Health, MUN Faculty of Medicine, CPSNL and the medical staff to provide consistent administrative leadership and support. The incumbent will be responsible for the recruitment of medical staff for the western region of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Required Qualifications: Previous management experience in a health care setting as well as a familiarity with medical staff by-laws, regulations and organizations is required. The successful applicant must have the ability to compile and analyse statistical information related to medical staff issues, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and also have a proven track record within a regional health organization. Strong organizational, financial management, and decision-making skills are required. The ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and the ability to promote initiatives through a team approach are also required. This would normally be acquired through the completion of a university degree, preferably in Commerce or Business, with major course work in Human Resource Management or through a combination of education and experience in this area. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with people in all departments of this large organization and our member organizations, and must be able to communicate effectively with external organizations. A familiarization with computers and computer software including word processing, spread sheeting, and database applications in a business setting is required. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

Alternate combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful applicant will be required to travel both within and outside the Region. The ability to work flexible hours is also required.

Hours of work: 70 hours per pay period
0830-1630 hours, Monday to Friday
Flexible hours may be required
Salary Scale: $66,037.00 - $85,848.00 per Annum
