The Community Impact Manager role helps demonstrate Medavie's values and positively impact the communities in which we operate, by managing Medavie Foundation charitable partnerships and contributing to Medavie's social responsibility activities. They will be accountable for maintaining compliance with Canada Revenue Agency charitable regulations and Foundation policies and criteria. They will support the ongoing development and refining of Medavie Foundation's impact strategy and aspects of Medavie's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. They will maintain a general knowledge and understanding of the Foundation's focus areas, including community trends and patterns, significant research findings and news/policy announcements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Medavie'sESG and Medavie Foundation strategy, bringing forwarddata informed recommendations aligned with Medavie'smission andvalues and the Medavie Foundation's registered purpose and focus areas.
- Collaborate with the Medavie social responsibilityand Medavie Foundationteamto continuously improve the way wesupport communities,centering those we are seeking to serve.
- Work with the Director in proposing possiblecollaboration opportunities across Medavie's social responsibility initiatives and Medavie Foundation partnerships.
Medavie Foundation Grantee Partner Engagement and Support
- Work collaboratively with the team to reviewgrant requests, including preparing relevant documentation and due diligence.
- Proactively seek out funding partnerships for board approval, aligned with Medavie Foundation's strategy.
- Maintain relationships with existing and new grantee partners to stay up to date on their activities and the health of their organizations and monitor their contributions to Medavie Foundation's mission, values and impact areas.
- Exercise good judgment in executing the Foundation's learning and reporting approach with grantee partners (i.e., partner-led learning and evaluation, flexibility in gathering report information, managing multi-year grants and/or extension requests as required).
- Explore and support the development and implementation of other non-financial tools such as collaborating with Medavie colleagues to complement granting.
- Support the development and execution of internal and external storytelling and funding announcements.
Learning and Knowledge Mobilization
- Identify opportunities forpartners, funders and community/sector leaders to learn from each other, build relationships, amplify their work, and/or foster collaboration.
- Collaborate with the Director to embed DEI considerations into ESG and Medavie Foundation priorities, decision making and activities.
- Engage Medavie's DEI Employee Resource Groups to for insight into the communities we serve and provide opportunities for involvement.
- Develop relevant documents, insights and learnings gleaned from Medavie and the Medavie Foundation's community partners.
- Represent the MedavieFoundation to external audiences.
Qualifications:
- Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years experience working in a grant making role or otherwise directly involved in mission-driven/social purpose work.
- Education: Post-secondary education in a related field (Community development, Non-profit management, Marketing) and/or education/professional learning in field of Corporate Citizenship/Corporate Social Responsibility (e.g. through Boston College) is an asset.
- Computer Skills: In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Language Skills: Bilingualism French/English is required for the role.
