Reporting to the Manager Building Services, the Coordinator, Building Projects is responsible for the effective management, planning and delivery of medium and large-scale projects. Collaborating with Building Services, key stakeholders in Operations, Housing Nova Scotia Property & Facilities group, and designated project managers, and consultants, the incumbent will ensure project completion in accordance with NSPHA standards, government policies and the applicable regulatory framework. The incumbent will follow the principles and methods of professional project management to ensure all objectives are reached.

Responsabilités
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Building Services, and key stakeholders, assist in identifying project initiation documents that define project requirements, scope, timeframes, governance, risk assessments, communication plans, schedule and budget for procurement and project management purposes.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure work is advancing on time and in accordance with contract specifications as laid out in the project initiation documents.
  • Formulate change management strategies to ensure internal teams and all impacted parties are supported during transitions. Bring forward recommendations to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Generate project financial and scheduling forecasts as well as track and report on progress made on various projects. Escalate schedule delays and/or concerns to the attention of the building services manager.
  • Facilitate a team process to define the overall project plan including project tasks, timing and dependencies.
  • Manage project issues, associated risks, and develop risk mitigation plans, including project change request process with management approval.
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.
  • Address any Occupational Health and Safety violations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Related post-secondary education, such as Construction Management Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, plus five years of project management experience in the construction field.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of procurement processes, legal jurisprudence governing construction contracts and contracting.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes.

Assets

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Project Management training.

Competencies required at this level of work are communication, organizational and multitasking, presentation, interpersonal, leadership, client service and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $67,725.84 - $82,469.40
