Manager of Patient Services, Western Health
Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook
Western Health requires a Manager of Patient Services on a permanent basis at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL for the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Reporting to the Director of Patient Services - Medicine Program, this position provides leadership in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating activities within emergency medicine and intensive care while managing resources effectively. The individual in this position works in an ever-changing environment that focuses on meeting the core mandate of providing emergency medicine/critical care. The incumbent focuses on meeting the needs of the population served, the empowerment and engagement of team members, and the provision of high quality care in keeping with best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: : A baccalaureate degree in a health care related discipline with current registration through a provincial regulatory body and five (5) years' experience as a registered heath care provider is required. Five (5) years' experience in emergency or critical care setting. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of emergency medicine. Previous leadership/management experience is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style, strong interpersonal skills, team building, program planning, critical thinking, effective problem solving, decision making and communication skills and an ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
Hours of Work: 70 hours per pay period
0800-1600 and 0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday
Salary Scale: $76,523.00 to $99,480.00 per Annum
