Job Summary
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to assist in the deliverance of NLHS's privacy program and the promotion of a privacy-aware culture in support of organizational compliance with applicable privacy legislation, regulation, policies and procedures, including the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, 2015 (ATIPPA) and the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).

Reporting to the Provincial Senior Manager, Privacy, the incumbent will assist in the development of strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the organization remains current and compliant with privacy protection obligations. The incumbent will provide coordination and support in the planning, design, and evaluation of privacy impactful initiatives and projects, including the coordination, development and evaluation of initiatives and projects through the privacy impact assessment process. The incumbent will assist with routine privacy consultations, privacy audits, investigations, and coordination in the event of privacy incidents; will assist with coordination and processing of access to information requests; will participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of privacy practice oversight for third party data sharing agreements and business partnerships; and perform other program duties as assigned. The position will require the ability to collaborate with a large number of partners, both internal and external to the organization including regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Job Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Access and Privacy Certificate or Access and Privacy Certification (e.g. CIPP, CIPM) would be an asset.

Experience
Experience and knowledge of health information systems, privacy and security issues, and privacy and access to information legislation is preferred.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to function effectively in a high pressure, diverse, and changing environment.
High level oral and written communication skills.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
