Founded in 1924, Irving Oil operates Canada's largest refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick, along with more than 900 fuelling locations and a network of distribution terminals spanning Eastern Canada and New England. It also operates Ireland's only refinery, located in the village of Whitegate.

The System Analyst supports the design and development of the HR System - Workday. Responsible for moderate to complex HR process improvements, system configuration, and testing within all modules of the HR System. This role requires excellent communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment, resolve issues, optimize existing solutions, and/or scope future enhancements. This role also works with and mentors junior System Analysts as they develop their skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for moderate to complex HR process improvements, system configuration, and testing within all modules of the HR System, ensuring Workday modules are running smoothly.
  • Assists in managing administration of security access.
  • Provides reporting as required.
  • Assists with prioritization and project management.
  • Coordinates and communicates system changes or events such as annual system maintenance, weekly service updates, etc.
  • Supports and follows HR System Governance processes.
  • Leads meetings with stakeholders to gather information and understand issues. Reviews requirements and provides recommendations.
  • Mentors other System Analysts and junior team members.
  • Develops, maintains, and provides training to end users.
  • Manages and executes testing activities across the Workday team, including bi-annual upgrade testing.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Workday experience
  • Proven troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to own multiple tasks, projects, and initiatives at a given time.
  • Ability to execute on priorities based on input from senior System Analysts and management.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to maintain professionalism in all forms of communication.
