About the Opportunity
Nova Scotia Health is hiring the next generation of Respiratory Therapists.
To accomplish this, we are hiring new graduates of accredited Respiratory Therapy programs. Nova Scotia Health is committed to providing you with the challenge and opportunity you are looking for as a new Respiratory Therapist.
Respiratory Therapists have the responsibility for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation (life support) and also act as an expert of advanced airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gasses, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing. Respiratory Therapists act as part of the multidisciplinary health care team to help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status, and assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients.

About You
- We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Upcoming graduate or graduate of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and eligible for licensing with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Effective communication skills
- Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.
Hours
- Various permanent, assignments (temporary), casual relief (no guarantee of hours), and opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia
- Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation
- Graduate Respiratory Therapist - $29.66 per hour
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist - $32.43 per hour after you provide proof of your active-practicing license with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan
