Job Title: Director of Resettlement and Settlement Services

Location: St. John's, NL
Position Type: Full-time position
Closing Date: will remain open until position is filled

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Resettlement and Settlement Services plays a vital role in ensuring that client services are well delivered and programs meet the needs of refugee newcomers. The Director will also seize opportunities to create new funding proposals and deliver initiatives to support the growing immigrant community and serves as an in-house resource on complex case management focused on positive outcomes. As a member of the Executive Management Team, this position contributes to our operational strategy, acts as prime contact in stakeholder and media relations, and is key in linking the organization's mandate to service delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of the resettlement and settlement teams delivering a diverse array of programming for newcomer families
  • Conducts ongoing program evaluations to maintain a strong service delivery model, implement process improvements and best practices when necessary and have ongoing community impact
  • Sources and develops comprehensive proposals/grants to secure funding for new and existing programs in line with the agency's mission and strategic direction.
  • Acts as an in-house resource and knowledge base for settlement staff and social workers on complex case management
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, funders, community organizations, and other partners.
  • Represents the ANC in media enquiries and national conferences
  • Writes monthly and yearly comprehensive status reports on programs and special projects as well as Board of Director presentations and status reports
  • Develops team goals and indicators for service delivery in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Leads in the development of a work culture that enhances the team's ability to attract and retain quality employees and achieve operational success
  • Provides coaching and supervision to the reporting team leads offering a consistent approach to employment issues aligned with the organization's human resources practices
  • Collaborates with the finance and program management teams to develop, manage, and monitor operational budgets, ensuring alignment with contribution agreements
  • Supports the Executive Director in achieving the organization's mandate and becoming an industry leader in settlement services
  • Participates on the Executive Management Team and contributes to annual business planning and organization initiatives
  • Oversees and manages the implementation and utilization of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems in collaboration with IT and data support teams to ensure accurate and efficient data management and reporting. This includes monitoring data quality, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and leveraging data insights to enhance service delivery and program outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant degree with a depth of experience in social and/or human services in a community-based setting
  • Experience in providing oversight of case management and community referrals for vulnerable populations (an asset)
  • Practiced professional utilizing a comprehensive/ holistic approach to client services and support with a proven track record of successful management within a non-profit or community-based agency
  • Experience in direct engagement with funders, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the funding landscape and compliance set out in contribution agreements
  • Strong financial management experience of government and community funding
  • Strong leadership skills focused on providing standard and consistent service delivery aligned with contractual agreements and industry standards
  • Experience in conducting service delivery analysis and implementing process improvements and best practices
  • Ability to assess and respond to the emerging needs of diverse cultures and newcomers to Canada aligned with national best practices
  • Skilled in leading change management initiatives
  • Knowledge and understanding of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems and experience in data management oversight to support informed decision-making and program improvements (an asset)
  • Strong experience in comprehensive report writing and funding proposal development
  • Experience in relationship management with community partners, external stakeholders, and media

Terms and Conditions

  • Ability to travel in and outside the province and flexibility in working outside of core business hours.
  • This position is subject to a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
