Job Summary
Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Security Operations within the Provincial Integrated Protective Services Department, this position is accountable for coordinating the development, implementation, and sustainability of the Health Science Centre Complex, Security Operations Program. This includes coordination and contract management for contracted security services throughout the complex, intending to mitigate risk to clients, staff, and property. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of security related recommendations to internal and external stakeholders through the provision of Targeted Violence Assessments, Security Risk Assessments, Corporate Investigations, Loss Prevention Assessments. The coordinator will work with other provincial zone-based Security Operations Coordinators to manage, coordinate, and provide oversight in a manner that is consistent with NLHS contract-based Security services delivery and will work collaboratively with all departments and sites within the Zone. Where and when necessary, the coordinator will engage in planning sessions, and participate as a collegial partner and stakeholder in all other facets of the Integrated Protection Services program.
Job Qualifications
Education
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
Experience
Minimum of five years' experience within the last seven years in in security/safety fields is required.
Experience in Hazard and Risk based gap analysis is required.
Experience in threat mitigation and conflict management is required.
Experience in crime prevention is required.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of violence prevention programs.
Knowledge of inventory control and asset management.
Knowledge and understanding of the interrelated nature of departments and programs in a health care setting.
Knowledge and understanding of the importance of integration between Health Emergency Management, Security Systems and Security Operations roles.
