Craft Alliance Atlantic is a pan-Atlantic trade association, based in Halifax, NS. We are looking for an experienced business professional to join our team in a new position as Export Project Coordinator.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Craft Alliance ~ Alliance métiers d'arts, the Export Project Coordinator will carry out all functions relative to the organization, execution and successful production of B2B wholesale market and export development projects and events as they relate to ongoing export projects as outlined in the job description or as assigned.

The Export Project Coordinator will manage the production of multiple concurrent events & activities as they relate to business development activities of the organization. Projects may include, but are not limited to management of project grants, budgets and related logistics for exporting initiatives such as trade shows, special projects, export missions and assisting clients with export related consultations. The coordinator will also have the responsibility to maintain and update website content, social media and marketing.

The Export Project Coordinator will be responsible for all administrative logistics in project management for a diverse range of activities that work directly with industry clients and the broader craft community. The coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of project budgets, and will have responsibility for project reporting as well as creating marketing strategies in the growth of our key export initiatives. The position will be responsible for working within the specified project budgets and will be accountable for required outcomes.

Specific responsibilities of the Export Project Coordinator include, but not limited to, the following:

Research and development of export data, logistics and documenting export processes, along with updating educational content for client resources.

Provide necessary export information through educational seminars and presentations, along with one-on-one client consultations and assist clients in export readiness and successful entry into new export markets. Be comfortable in making presentations to clients, industry, consultants and contractors.

Assist in the development of operational budgets for various export & trade projects and maintain appropriate records. Work within the adopted budget to produce successful export missions and events.

Preparation of appropriate industry communications, through newsletters, online and print campaigns for related projects. Coordinate with the Executive Director and other contractors for: web design, graphic design and independent printers regarding printing and design requirements for print and web services.

Coordinate with Executive Director, the preliminary design concepts and logistics for upcoming projects to include promotional materials and required media campaigns.

The ability to work on short timelines with set resources and professionally deal with issues and challenges presented by clients, contractors and consultants.

Prepare and initiate project overviews and event information to current and potential clients including event materials and continued liaison with clients within the Atlantic Provinces. Produce all project criteria and event registration materials, newsletters and follow-up materials, surveys and reports. Maintain and update CRM and client databases.

Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies; including, but not limited to export programs, projects, educational programs and export missions.

Increase industry involvement with clients, contractors and consultants, through contacts, in-person events, newsletters and online engagement.

Work with Executive Director on specific project contracts and continue liaison with industry representatives, contractors and venue management. Participate in on-site project management for export trade shows and management for events, inclusive of the requirements for specific initiatives, which may include; move-in/move out; staffing, registration, computer and registration requirements; catering; security; troubleshooting; signage, and overall event and project management.

Provide logistics support to educational programs as standalone or concurrently incorporated with existing projects or programs, which may include; technical equipment, presenters and venues. Assist in production of the Alliance's annual Awards for Excellence.

Preparation of project reports on an ongoing basis, which will include, but not limited to: survey results, program applications, registration, staffing, seminars, venue, schedules and deadlines. The coordinator will also report on project progress and make recommendations for the successful production of current and future initiatives.

Attendance at committee meetings when required. Assist Executive Director with coordination of meetings. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.

Candidates for the position must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in B2B business development, exporting and project planning. Demonstrated financial literacy in budget preparation, accounting or finances is required. Experience in small business development, the craft industry or the retail giftware industry would be beneficial. A university degree or diploma in business, event management or communications is desirable or a combination of work experience and education. CITP Certification in International Business desired. Experience in project marketing and communications skills to include: website management, online marketing & social media experience. MUST be proficient in MS Excel, Access databases and CRM programs. Experience working in the non-profit sector or in a trade association environment is desirable. Bilingualism an asset.

This position is subject to continued funding and is a full-time 35 hrs. per week position. The position will require overtime and weekend work hours, especially during scheduled events. Some travel maybe required. As a non-profit organization Craft Alliance operates within a budget that is reliant on and is subject to funding approvals to continue the work of the organization and as such, all positions within the organizations are subject to change, depending on funding at any given time.

Craft Alliance works in a flexible, remote work environment. Due to project requirements, preference will be given to candidates living in the greater Halifax, Nova Scotia region however, candidates from across Atlantic Canada will be considered, if they meet the minimum requirements of the position.

Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and eligible to work in Canada at the time of employment. Salary is $52,000. per year, with increase after a 6 month probationary period. Employees are eligible for 3 weeks' paid vacation per year and RRSP Contribution program after probationary period.
