Title Kitchen Designer Job Description Position Purpose: Kitchen Designers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales in kitchens and other departments. The Kitchen Designer qualifies customers, executes kitchen design consultations, provides quotes and recommends product options to help customers realize their dream kitchens. The Kitchen Designer facilitates the smooth and efficient processing of all kitchen department in-stock, custom orders and installation sales until the project is completed to the customer's satisfaction. Kitchen Designers use strong customer relationship skills, superior product expertise, and advanced project knowledge to provide a differentiated experience that drives sales. Major Tasks & Responsibilities: • Responsible for total department kitchen sales, as well as sales in other departments as required to complete the total project • Maintaining relationships with customers in person, over the phone and via email throughout the entire design process to ensure an exceptional customer experience • Achieving individual sales targets to support overall department goals relating to sales and customer service and taking appropriate actions in order to accomplish these goals • Prospecting and engaging kitchen customers, giving them reasons to buy at The Home Depot • Meeting with customers for design consultations, leveraging the 20/20 system to provide designs, product options and quotes • Scheduling customers for kitchen measures • Quote conversion – following up on open projects to close sales Preferred Qualifications • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends • Detail oriented • Proficiency with computers; knowledge of design software (e.g. 20/20; AutoCAD) is an asset • Excellent communication and customer service skills • Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills • Previous experience closing a sale and meeting/exceeding sales targets • 1-2+ years of experience working in a sales driven environment. • Knowledge of construction and the ability to read blueprints and floor plans
