Regional Manager - Human Resources, 12 month permanent position for the Labrador Regional Office, start date to be determined.
Salary Scale (HL-20) plus applicable Labrador and Travel Allowance
Duties
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Regional Manager - Human Resources will function as part of the management team responsible for the delivery of human resources for the region and will also collaborate with other divisions as required. The Regional Manager provides leadership and leads the delivery of these services for the Labrador Region.
The incumbent is responsible for managing the operations of this region, which includes: performing a generalist role as an advisor to management and employees; the interpretation and administration of various collective agreements; providing advice and guidance on policies and programs; recruitment and selection; professional development; attendance management, benefits and pension administration; employee relations; occupational health and safety and disability management. The incumbent is also responsible for providing strategic support to the Director of Schools including Nunatsiavut Government funding. This position will perform other duties as assigned which may include providing supports to other regions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should demonstrate management and supervisory experience and must possess well developed communication (both oral and written), organizational, facilitation, planning and analytical skills with the ability to work independently, or as part of a team; superior conflict resolution skills, be able to work under pressure to meet various deadlines, and have the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Public sector experience especially in the education sector, is considered an asset.
These qualifications would normally be acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, or equivalent, supplemented by progressively responsible and related experience. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
