Salary range: $107,736.772 to $126,749.144

This competition is open to applicants who identify as Mi'kmaw.

This is a remote work opportunity. You must have a suitable work from home office space and be within commuting distance to any of NSCC's physical campuses. The successful candidate will have all computing requirements (computer, monitors, etc.) provided to their home office.

Responsabilités

What you'll be doing...

  • Reporting to the eCampus Principal, as the Academic Chair for the Poqji-kina'masulti'kw tel-kina'mujik mijua'ji'jk (Mi'kmaw Early Childhood Education) Cohort in the School of Access, Education and Language, you will lead the delivery of the Mi'kmaw Early Childhood Education (ECE) Cohorts at eCampus ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency in programing while supporting student success.
  • You will work with faculty and community (service providers, employers, government partners) to provide unique program pathways using a combination of online synchronous and asynchronous instruction and in-person gatherings. This role requires collaboration with internal and external partners who can help administer the provision of cultural services during in-person gatherings and online.
  • You will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the objectives of our culturally diverse ECE programs offered through eCampus are met with a clear understanding of our administrative, fiscal and human resources.
  • Your leadership is key to ensuring the objectives of programs offered by NSCC are met through efficient and effective management, while endorsing the application of adult education principles and portfolio learning, within a safe work environment, and portfolio learning in a learning-centered college.
  • You will be a key member of both eCampus and School teams. Campuses and Schools share accountability for ensuring a quality-learning environment and a cohesive campus team. You will use your established relationships in the health care and human service-related sectors regionally and locally to inform programming and opportunities for students.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and progressive occupational experience in an Education related field, which includes significant experience in a supervisory or project management/leadership role. A combination of education, occupational experience and lived experience may also be considered.
  • You have demonstrated experience with Mi'kmaw culture and traditions.
  • You have experience working with diverse communities.
  • You have experience in online Adult Education.
  • Experience supervising faculty would be considered an asset.
  • Experience instructing at the post-secondary level would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education would be an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, email, Brightspace or other Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Teams and Human Resource Information Management Systems.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
  • You have experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery and evaluation.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge:

  • You have a high level of fluency in Mi'kmaw (Oral, Reading, Writing) and English to read and assess student work.

  • Your superb team working skills enable you to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • You have specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in an Education field.[TK1]

  • You are a strong communicator both written and oral.
  • You possess excellent coordination skills specifically related to coordinating logistics for online programming and in-person gatherings.
  • You have proven records and information management skills and abilities including scheduling staff and programming.
  • You have demonstrated strength in supervising, managing and leading a team.
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • You are dedicated to life-long learning and have recent, relevant development opportunities.
  • You have experience managing and forecasting budgets.
