CAPITAL PLANNING & OPERATIONS

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:15 pm | 36.25 hours per week

  • Ability to travel to both campuses (Fredericton & Saint John) for events, initiatives and meetings.

Salary Range: $44,904 - $56,128 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager of Sustainability and the Director of Energy & Sustainability, the Sustainability Engagement Coordinator implements bi-campus education and engagement work that helps meet UNB's sustainability and carbon neutrality goals. This position coordinates and improves sustainability education and engagement events and initiatives at UNB.

  • Organize, coordinate, promote and report on sustainability education and engagement events and initiatives for the UNB community.
  • Manage, maintain and create engaging content for UNB Sustainability's social media accounts.
  • Assist with managing the UNB Sustainability website and SharePoint site.
  • Track engagement analytics for all UNB Sustainability social media accounts and websites.
  • Develop, maintain and promote sustainability and climate change education resources for the UNB community.
  • Develop and maintain a staff and faculty sustainability network.
  • Connect with the UNB community to find and share Green and Sustainability Research Champions and other content for The Green Review blog.
  • Connect and engage with student groups on campus.
  • Manage the UNB Sustainability Volunteer Team to push sustainability education and engagement forward at UNB.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary diploma, preferably in Environmental Management and/or of climate change.
  • 2 years' experience with organizing, coordinating, promoting and reporting on events and initiatives.
  • 1 years' experience with developing educational materials for sustainability and climate change.

Additional Strengths

  • Professional social media account management and media content creation experience is an asset.
  • Experience with tracking engagement is an asset.
  • Basic ability to use Microsoft O365 Suite of applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail to manage a diversified workload.
  • Ability to use independent judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and facilitating youth programs, events, and activities within a community setting.
  • Exceptional ability to engage and communicate to groups of people.
