The College is currently seeking dynamic and competent leaders for the position of Instructor - Industrial Electrician / Construction Electrician.
Position Type: Term - Part-time up to 18.125 hours/week
Duration: October 2024 to June 2025
Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $43.68 per hour, based on their level of post-secondary education.
You will be collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair of Electrical and Pipe Trades. As a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:
- Trade related safety
- AC/DC theory,
- Wiring, single and three phase motors,
- Drives
- Generators and digital electronics.
The successful incumbent must also be well versed in the use and interpretation of the Canadian Electrical Code as it relates to the above areas as well as be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
Education & Experience:
- Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma, or equivalency.
- A valid Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification in Industrial Electrical with a Red Seal Certificate.
- A working knowledge of MS Office is required.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of related, recent work experience at the Journeyperson's level.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment in a blended delivery format.
