Advantage St. John's Inc. is the newly established economic development agency serving the City of St. John's, Town of Conception Bay South, and Town of Paradise. The agency's mission is to drive economic growth by amplifying investment, talent attraction, and business attraction to Newfoundland and Labrador's capital region. Positioned as a key player in the region's economic landscape, Advantage St. John's is committed to fostering collaboration, transparency, and diversity while supporting a wide range of industries including marine technology, renewable energy, and technology innovation.

Meridia Recruitment is excited to partner with Advantage St. John's in the search for a Marketing and Communications Manager who will be instrumental in crafting and amplifying the agency's brand. You will spearhead the agency's brand development, manage stakeholder engagement, and lead marketing campaigns that enhance Advantage St. John's visibility and influence within the region and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing:

Marketing and Communications Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans that align with the agency's mission and strategic goals.
  • Create and oversee content for various platforms, ensuring it effectively communicates the agency's messages and highlights the region's strengths.
  • Manage media relations, engage with industry partners, and utilize digital and traditional channels to enhance the agency's public profile.

Brand Development and Management:

  • Lead the brand refresh initiative, ensuring a cohesive and compelling brand presence across all platforms and materials.
  • Collaborate with local marketing agencies and internal teams to maintain brand consistency and effectively represent Advantage St. John's.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, government entities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent the agency at conferences, webinars, and other public engagements, sharing the agency's vision and achievements.

Event and Conference Marketing:

  • Coordinate the marketing aspects of trade shows, conferences, and other events, including the creation of promotional materials and management of event logistics.
  • Ensure the agency's participation at key events effectively supports its strategic objectives.

Content Creation:

  • Draft engaging content for newsletters, social media posts, reports, and prepare speaking notes for public engagements.
  • Oversee the creation of impactful presentations and promotional materials to support the agency's outreach efforts.

Who You Are:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • With at least five years in marketing and communications, you've honed your skills in brand management and strategic planning.
  • You're proficient with digital marketing tools, content management systems, and analytics. Your exceptional organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities are key strengths.
  • Your excellent written and verbal communication skills shine through in your public speaking and interactions with diverse stakeholders.
  • You excel in a startup environment, adapt well to change, and are prepared to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
