Hours 75 bi-weekly (8-hour days) Flex schedule as per current AAHP Collective Agreement. Salary CG-43 ($45.48 - $56.13 per hour which includes any negotiated wage adjustment and/or supplement as applicable)

Job Summary
This Clinical Physiotherapist II position is focused on offering Specialized Rehabilitation and Restorative Residential Care in a community setting. The Clinical Physiotherapist II will provide services primarily in a Personal Care Home (PCH) environment and the client's home. This Clinical Physiotherapist II position will assess, treat and facilitate discharge planning with clients with a goal of returning to the client's home environment. This is a challenging position, which requires an individual to practice independently to be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team in the PCH and community, build respectful relationships with clients, team members, and others involved in the systems in which they work. Work includes client management, input into program and policy development, project development, quality initiatives, planning and evaluation activities of the clinical service and the profession, participating in evidence-based practice, and education and community capacity building.

The Clinical Physiotherapist II receives clinical support and mentoring from the Physiotherapist III for CSP. The position supervises Rehabilitation Assistants as part of the delivery of interventions to
clients.

The Clinical Physiotherapist II will be responsible to precept Physiotherapy students and offer other clinical education experience to students within NL Health Services.

This position reports to the Division Manager of the Community Support Program and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Physiotherapy for integrity and professional practice issues.

Job Demands

Occasionally lifts or moves objects between 10 - 37 lbs.
Regularly requires a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
Regularly required to bend, kneel, stretch and physically lifting, pushing, pulling and/or maneuvering patient/clients with medium force, including transferring patients and assisting with mobility.
Occasionally uses hand tools and equipment.
Time pressures and interruptions are experienced with little control over work pace.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Physiotherapy program is required.
Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapist (NLCP) is required.
A minimum of three years of experience within the last five working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with adult clients is required.
Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in a one to one and/or group environment.
Ability to direct, supervise and mentor students and rehabilitation assistants.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team and be able to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's License and the use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
