Position: | Full-Time Security Guard
Site: | Smiths Falls District Hospital - 60 Cornelia St W
Hours: | Continental Rotation – Daytime Only – 0700 – 1900
Pay Rate: | $21.27/hour
Schedule Example:
Week 1 – 0700 - 1900 - Sunday to Wednesday Week 2 – 0700 - 1900 - Monday to Wednesday Hiring Bonus for new hires: $250 after 6 months, an additional $250 after 12 months

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols
  • Respond to emergency situations (medical, fire, and security incidents)
  • Conduct patient watch as needed
  • Enforce site policies
  • Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records
  • Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and manage aggressive behaviour
  • Operate both independently and as part of a team to ensure site safety and security
  • Performance additional duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
Must-Have:
  • Valid Security License
  • First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to complete Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
Health Requirements:
  • Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccination
  • Completed Immunization Records (MMR, Varicella, TB Skin Test (Step 1 & 2)
Experience:
  • Security Industry (6 months – 1 year)
  • Healthcare experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Customer Service (minimum six (6) months)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Ability to stay calm in emergencies
  • Follow and enforce rules
  • Complete detailed reports
  • Handle extensive patrolling (including in various weather conditions)
Certifications:
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviour and Use of Force is a mandatory requirement for all new hires.
  • Paladin Security will cover the cost of this certification for new hires based on a six-month commitment contract.
