Using AutoCAD and Revit, you will create designs that comply with relevant codes and client requests. You'll coordinate with designers and departments to ensure accurate information for production. Your role includes conducting code analysis, performing calculations, creating specifications and detailed drawings, and managing project files for distribution to stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working directly with the Architectural team to understand customers' needs
  • Preparing necessary plumbing, ventilation, or electrical shop drawings, specifications, or other details to fabricate residential and commercial buildings per code and design specifications
  • Preparing hydraulic load, ventilation, energy efficiency, electrical load, or heat loss calculations
  • Preparing quantity take-offs and hardcopy drawing packages for factory construction
  • Performing quality checks of drawings and details for codes and standards compliance
  • Collaborating and innovating across departments to improve the accuracy and efficiency of drawings, details, and other information
  • Providing technical assistance to sales, procurement, factory, service, and other departments as required
  • Performing other duties related to design and engineering as required

Your Qualifications

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and creativity in a supportive and innovative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, with a keen understanding of systems and energy efficiency in residential construction. Your ability to work with building codes and proficiency in design software will be crucial in developing accurate and efficient solutions.

Your qualifications include:

  • Training or equivalent experience in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or a relevant field
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as energy efficiency as it relates to residential construction
  • Knowledge of building, plumbing, energy, and electrical codes and standards
  • Experience with estimating and quantity take-offs
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office suite with experience using Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other graphic and design software

At Prestige Homes, you're not just building houses; you're building communities. You'll have the chance to see your designs come to life and be part of a team that values innovation and quality. As they strive to be the largest and best builder in the region, you'll play a significant role in achieving their real estate strategy.

They offer a competitive salary, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, and a 4-day work week. Join them in a stable and growing industry where your contributions are recognized, and professional development is supported.
