Behavior Management Specialist A, Temporary Full-Time (Approximately 12 months), Bell Place Community Health Centre, Gander
Definition of Work:
This is a professional position providing a unique, proactive service that is home-based and client centred. The Behaviour Management Specialist develops and oversees the delivery of community based intervention programs to assist families and community organizations in meeting the needs of individuals who exhibit very challenging behaviour problems; assesses problem behaviours; designs and implements programs; prepares technical reports; and consults with other professionals in the social services, health and education fields. The successful candidate will be a member of a regional team of Behaviour Management Specialists and will play a role in various interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required Qualifications:
* Graduation from an approved college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or closely related field with major course work in Psychology in the areas of child development, learning theory and principles of behaviour management.
* Demonstrated knowledge of individual program planning, functional analysis, program design and treatment ethics, and behaviour management techniques.
* Demonstrated strong oral and written communication, management and analytical skills, and the ability to work as a member of a team.
* Demonstrated considerable experience in the design and development of behavioural interventions.
* Use of a private vehicle and valid driver license are a condition of employment.

* Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: CG-38 ($36.72-$40.96)
