Higher Talent Healthcare has partnered with a high-volume independent pharmacy located in Metro St. John's, NL in their search for a full-time permanent Pharmacy Manager.
THE ROLE:
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, managing a team of 12 staff (including students), and ensuring quality patient care and safety.
The ideal candidate has a sound understanding of pharmacy operations, regulations and guidelines, and possesses strong leadership/mentorship skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting the pharmacy and front end staff (approximately 12 staff members) including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff (including students)
- Ensuring the pharmacy complies with all regulations regarding dispensing of medicine
- Overseeing the inventory of pharmaceutical supplies
- Implementing policies and procedures for successful operations
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment to ensure health and safety
- Addressing customer complaints and ensuring high customer service standards are consistently met
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Administering vaccines and providing health and wellness screenings as needed
- Performing administrative tasks such as managing budgets, filing, and handling insurance documentation
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, policies, procedures and regulations
- Proficient in pharmacy management software and technology
- Effective management and leadership skills to oversee pharmacy staff, which includes hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to deal with customers, address their concerns, and establish a loyal customer base.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with healthcare providers, counsel patients about medications, and communicate effectively with staff.
- Detail-oriented and organized, ensuring accurate prescription filling, inventory management, and maintenance of pharmacy records.
- Knowledge of business management and financial principles to ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently and profitably.
