Position Type: Term to March 2025

Location: NBCC Saint John, Allied Health campus.

Salary Range: $2,846.00 to $3,786.00 biweekly.

Responsabilités

As part of the School of Health and Wellness and reporting to the Academic Chair of Allied Health, the Student-Infused Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of student-infused pulmonary rehabilitation; establishing and overseeing a positive experiential learning environment while precepting respiratory therapy students (with possibility of additional health students) in community-based pulmonary rehabilitation, building and sustaining professional relationships with students, the students' instructors, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a Respiratory Therapist, delivering and overseeing pulmonary rehabilitation to eligible clients, precepting respiratory therapy students assigned to the student-infused pulmonary rehabilitation clinic (with the possibility of additional health students), and evaluating the program.
  • Planning the student-infused pulmonary rehabilitation program with respect to equipment ordering and verification, organizing, and executing pulmonary rehabilitation activities based on accepted procedure.
  • Organizing and executing pre-determined measurement tools, in accordance with program evaluation and research study protocols, ensuring both ethical standards and guidelines are followed.
  • Recruiting eligible participants for student-infused pulmonary rehabilitation, which may involve liaising with healthcare providers (i.e., respirologists), advertising, and screening potential candidates.
  • Collecting program evaluation and research data, which could involve such activities as administering surveys, conducting interviews, or gathering physiological data related to cardiopulmonary function.
  • Organizing and managing collected data, ensuring both accuracy and data safety.
  • Mentoring others involved in student-infused pulmonary rehabilitation.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A minimum of a two-year diploma from a CMA or CoARTE accredited respiratory therapy program, or a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Respiratory Therapy) degree, or an equivalent.
  • Must be licensed to practice Respiratory Therapy in the Province of New Brunswick.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of immunization and criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) Certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Assets:

  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of recent respiratory therapy experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with pulmonary rehabilitation, precepting health students, and with research and evaluation would be considered assets.

This role will require frequent travel, candidates must possess a valid driver's license.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
