Development & Donor Relations

The Office of Development Donor Relations (DDR) is a unit within the Advancement portfolio, responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private donations made to the University of New Brunswick.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $63,326 - $86,308 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Associate Director Research and Stewardship, the Research and Stewardship Officer is responsible for undertaking extensive prospect research, providing detailed donor profiles, designing and directing stewardship efforts and managing alumni and donor recognition activities and events.

  • Plan and implement a robust stewardship program for those making significant philanthropic investments in the University's mission.
  • Complete progress reports, financial accounting, and endowment reports.
  • Orchestrate private and/or public announcements.
  • Expand and update prospect and donor pools through research of current databases and other external sources.
  • Review local and national media and business publications and keep abreast of prospect information and local/ regional business developments and economic trends.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from senior administrators, deans, directors, and other members of the university community.
  • Provide background information, profiles, written and oral reports, and lists and statistics for Internal Stakeholders.
  • Produce in-house mailings to donors and prospective donors including gift acknowledgment letters, fund reports, and stewardship correspondence.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University Degree in Business Administration, Communications/ Public Relations, Library & Information Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in development, advancement services, market research, corporate intelligence, event planning, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Ability to organize and analyze information from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time frames and shifting deadlines.

  • Ability to use mature judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive situations and information.
