What you will be doing…
The Learning Experience Designer works as part of the Organizational Learning (OL) team to provide online learning solutions and professional development experiences for employees. Reporting to the Director of Organizational Learning, the Learning Experience Designer will:
- apply instructional design and adult education approaches to projects.
- use project management skills to make sure project timelines and deadlines are met.
- support the OL team to develop new and/or enhance existing digital and non-digital learning materials.
- work independently and collaboratively with the Organizational Learning team and subject matter experts to design, develop, implement, and evaluate online and blended learning solutions and experiences for employees (e.g., e-modules, course curriculum, workshop content, blended learning, course evaluations, activities, and assessments.)
What we are looking for…
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or Education or equivalent, and related professional certification and/or experience.
- 5 years' experience that includes the following:
- 2 years' working in online/blended learning.
- 3 years' working in (program-level) curriculum and (course-level) instructional design
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment and are proficient in:
- Brightspace learning platform to design and develop online courses and workshops.
- Educational technology tools including but not limited to: Genially, Padlet, Canva, Stream, YouTube, Camtasia, Articulate 360, Adobe c\Creative Suite, and HTML5.
- The full suite of Microsoft Office products, including MS Teams and SharePoint.
- You have experience and competence in working on multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines, and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience teaching and/or facilitating learning would be considered an asset.
Relevant Skills and Knowledge
- You use adult education and instructional design methodologies to design and develop learning solutions to meet diverse employee learning needs.
- You design, develop, and maintain digital and non-digital learning content and materials.
- You work with subject matter experts (SME) to ensure content is accurate.
- You have experience with online and face-to-face facilitation.
- You demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion and have knowledge of universal design for learning and other accessibility principles.
- You demonstrate:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to act independently within defined objectives and direction
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks and functions and changing priorities
- Excellent planning, time management, project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work energetically and creatively in a team environment
