Job Description

Staffing Coordinator, Temporary Call InClinical Operations, James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander

Definition of Work:
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Staffing, the Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for the assignment of staff for the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Lakeside Homes and the new Long Term Care, Gander. Duties will include coordinating and developing schedules for a variety of departments, approving requests and assigning relief for all types of leave. They will be responsible for inputting bi-weekly payroll, as well as being available to do on-call on a rotational basis. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required Qualifications:
* Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
* Three-year business management program approved by Central Health.
* Applicants with a nursing background may also be considered.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)
* A satisfactory record of performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
* Computer skills such as Excel, Word, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Work experience in the health care system, particularly in the area of human resources.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the health care collective agreements.

Hours of Work: Call as Needed (Shift work may be required)
Salary: CG-27 ($25.48-$28.18) non-union, non-management
