Employment Status : Permanent Full-Time

Salary Band : $ 35,723 - $ 38,000 / year

In this role, you will :

  • Schedule and dispatch for Transportation programs.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the program, assessing client eligibility for service as per policy and procedure.
  • Create client files, inputting information into database and updating on a regular basis.
  • Receive routine referrals/intake information from local health centre and private clients, and direct callers to other community agencies or information sources where appropriate.
  • Develop and distribute client/driver service schedule and inform drivers of changes to their schedules.
  • Assess availability and appropriateness of drivers for routine assignments referring to service agreements and contracts, policies and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with clients/caregivers, drivers, funders and various Red Cross departments.
  • Integrate volunteer resources within the job's scope of responsibility.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as required to maintain a healthy and safe working environment.

What we are looking for :

  • Minimum 1-2 years of post-secondary education and 1-3 years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle - a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required.
  • Customer service experience an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
  • Experience in an extremely fast-paced and team-oriented office environment.

Working conditions :

  • Duties are principally conducted in an office setting, at the Sarnia Branch, in a comfortable and friendly environment; however, there may be occasions where driving a Red Cross vehicle is necessary.
  • Hours of work are based on 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • The successful candidate must be available to work a flexible work period, some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Domestic travel with the Sarnia-Lambton region may be required.
