Job Title: Investment Analyst Department: Finance Competition: 87192 Internal/External: Internal/ External Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Remote or Hybrid in Ontario, Quebec or Atlantic Salary: Competitive Compensation Reports To: Manager
Role

As a member of the Investment Team, you will play a key role in the department's goal of maximizing investment returns subject to the risk appetite and investment constraints of the Company. You will be responsible for modeling, calculating performance, reporting, and continuous monitoring of investment activities. This is a great opportunity to fulfill your passion for working on process improvement and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Compile data related to investment holdings and performance of external portfolio managers.
  • Calculate Assets, Asset-Liability, and investment performance.
  • Research market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Analyse interest rate impact on the Company's financial results.
  • Monitor performance and allocation of investment strategies managed by external portfolio managers.
  • Develop and maintain the existing performance calculation tool.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Information Technology, or another closely related field.
  • 1-3' years of relevant work experience in consulting, pricing, back/ middle office, or valuations.
  • Well-versed in investment, insurance, and statistical concepts/ practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining business process models and documenting business process changes.
  • Advanced skills using Excel in combination with Power Query, VBA, Python, or C# .Net programming to work with large amounts of data.
  • Self-motivated and successful at multi-tasking to meet deadlines and budgets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders

Assets

  • Working towards an actuarial designation with the CIA or towards a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Previous work experience in investment consulting.
  • Working knowledge of advanced data warehouse reporting (using SQL).
  • Knowledge of the AXIS actuarial software.
  • Bilingualism (ENG/FR).
