About the Windsor Elms Village (Falmouth, NS): Windsor Elms Village is an Eden Registered Home with a resident-directed philosophy of care. Creating a Sense of Home: We are home to 108 residents. At Windsor Elms Village there are three distinct neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood has four houses of nine residents. With such a diverse group of residents, you will find each house has its own character. At WEV, we strive to create flexibility that mirrors life in the communities and homes our residents have known.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

We are seeking Part Time LPN's to work in our home located in Falmouth, NS (just 40 minutes from Halifax).

As an LPN you will administer medications and treatments and assess ongoing health status and quality of life of residents. As an LPN within our team, you will be creating a positive and pleasant environment in the Resident's home by working collaboratively and respectfully with all care partners including residents, co-workers, families, physicians, community and professional agencies. In everything you do, you will strive to enhance and strengthen the groups and individuals who live and work at the Windsor Elms Village. Other key responsibilities include communicating pertinent information to team members; maintaining complete and accurate clinical records and contributing to resident care plans to ensure they are current.

As an important member of our team -- working with all care partners - you do what it takes to enrich relationships and well-being for residents.

Qualifications:

  • Registered and in good standing with The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia.
  • Preferred experience with geriatrics.
  • Preferred Alzheimer's Course.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
