About Us

As part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, Digital Health provides quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers. Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research. We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Administrative Assistant to join our Virtual Care team. This position supports the day-to-day administrative activities for the team and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating day-to-day activities including email and routing of requests.
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and taking meeting minutes.
  • Prepare and distribute agenda and related session materials in preparation for meetings and workshops.
  • Respond to inquiries and forward to the appropriate area as required.
  • Typing, editing, and distributing documents using MS Office tools.
  • Coordinating and processing travel requests and claims.
  • Preparing Purchase Requests and gathering quotes from vendors.
  • Providing back-up reception duties as needed.

About You

Your Education and Experience include:

  • Diploma/Degree in Office or Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the provision of administrative services

You have the following skills and abilities:

  • Superior communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and access concerns
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information using excellent judgement, diplomacy and discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs

It would be considered an asset if you have the following:

  • Knowledge of the Provincial Health Care System.

Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.
