The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on twelve steps that range from $65,538.83 - $89,827.70. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $78,680.87 annually.

Responsabilités

What you will be doing…

  • You will report to the School Manager, and will be responsible for project coordination which includes relationship building, communication, collaboration, and support for all facets of project coordination, i.e., labour market research, identifying regional and national opportunities, planning, development, proposal writing, marketing, budgeting, implementation, problem solving, accurate and timely communication, timelines, reporting and evaluation with multiple and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • The areas of focus are Information Technology, specifically Artificial Intelligence, as well as Environmental and Geomatics programming. There will also be responsibility for students in the provincial "TAP" (Technology Advantage Program) and P-Tech (Pathways in Technology Early High School) programs, including industry events, workshop development and delivery, record-keeping, and liaising with secondary education and parental partners, etc., in current and subsequent intakes. Industry outreach and preparing clear, comprehensive reports on progress, planning and implementation strategies will be a priority.
  • Occasional travel throughout Nova Scotia will be required.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Education, Information Technology, Business Administration, Geomatics, etc.
  • You have a minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in the development, coordination and evaluation of projects, or the recognized equivalents.
  • Your occupational experience includes working in a learning or transition environment, delivering services that assist individuals in addressing barriers related to education, training and/or work.
  • You possess research skills with the proven ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data in order to propose recommendations for future programming.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.). Experience with PeopleSoft would be an asset. Experience with Power BI would be an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student, faculty, and external partner experience.
  • You have experience in supporting training/facilitation preparation and delivery.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be an asset.
  • Project Management training and experience would be an asset.

  • You have proven records and information management skills and abilities specifically related to project management.
  • You are able to provide a clean Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Possession of a valid NS Driver's License.

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a two-year (part-time) adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
