Western Zone, located on the scenic west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, is
seeking the services of a salaried, Family Physician to be a part of a Multidisciplinary
Primary Care Clinic in Corner Brook for a one-year replacement expecting to start in
November 2024.
The Family Physician will be a part of an innovative, team-based model of care that
promotes self-care and self-managed care. The practice will include virtual care, inperson
care,
group visits,
and
an
Electronic
Medical
Record
(EMR).
The Family Physician will provide outpatient and inpatient services and on-call duties on
a regular rotation with other Family Physicians at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a 171-bed regional referral centre for Western
Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 78,000
people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Faculty
of Medicine and we encourage and support academic interests.
Qualifications Required: Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Certification in the
College of Family Physicians (CCFP) and satisfy credentialing requirements of Western
Health's Discipline of Family Practice.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications,
consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess CCFP.
Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly plus on-call obligations

Remuneration: The salary scale for Family Physicians ranges from $198,724-$215,097
as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health
and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine
a Physician's step assignment with yearly progression thereafter.

An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current MOA. Additional
benefits are available.
