Job Summary
The Secretary I will provide secretarial support for the Bridges Program, and the Geriatric Psychiatry Program in the Mental Health and Addictions Program. The candidate will be responsible for organizing and maintaining clinical charts and records, record intake data, book clinical appointments; registering clients, ordering office and other supplies, entering payroll; telephone reception and other clerical duties as assigned. The candidate will also be responsible for typing and filing administrative correspondence and material. The candidate will be required to provide clerical support to the Geriatric Psychiatrists who teach at MUN. This can include organizing/uploading schedules, uploading lectures, preparing material for teaching and assisting in the preparation of research materials, sending out case conference forms and emails, putting together exams, attending meetings and taking minutes as well as invigilating exams at the HSC. The position uses CRMS, CWS, Meditech and EMR. This position reports to the Managers of Child/Adolescent Community Mental Health and Geriatric Psychiatry.

Job Demands

Constantly required to perform fine finger/precision work while using a computer mouse.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a two-year Office Administration program OR completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college supplemented by two years of experience within the last four in a progressively responsible clerical role is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
Experience using EMR would be an asset.

*Proof of a current office administration program and a medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.

** If medical terminology isn't current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the Human Resources Client Services Department.
