ACENET is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Project Manager to coordinate and support a variety of initiatives related to advanced research computing services, support and training.

In this position, you will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and other team leads to ensure the timely and successful execution and delivery of projects in areas such as: training and development, infrastructure, researcher support, and organizational performance monitoring. You will be employed by one of ACENET's partner post-secondary institutions with the option to work on-site, remotely within Atlantic Canada, or under a hybrid arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Apply project management frameworks to plan, initiate, execute and monitor the progress of activities while taking change management and risk mitigation strategies into consideration.
  • Liaise with senior management, ACENET's multidisciplinary team, partners and stakeholders to effectively manage deliverables and expectations.
  • Communicate and report on deliverables and milestones, feedback and other project aspects to the CTO and other relevant ACENET staff.
  • Assess risks, roadblocks and project variances, and provide advice, recommendations and mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Evaluate and document project performance and develop improvement strategies.
  • Assist team members with inter-project dependencies and communication.

Background and Skills

As the ideal candidate you are a motivated self-starter and relationship builder, comfortable engaging with various types of stakeholders. You have a post-secondary degree and experience managing agile projects of medium complexity. Having a PMP certification and work experience in the research or technology sector are considered assets.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management frameworks, methodologies, tools and best practices, as well as project change management methodologies.
  • Experience establishing strong professional relationships at all levels.
  • Experience using project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The position includes the annual vacation, personal days, sick leave, tuition support, health benefits and a pension plan of the employing post-secondary institution.

Salary: $63,114 - $86,692

This is a full-time 12-month contract position with renewal dependent on funding.
