Join Our Team as a Family Room Coordinator in Moncton!

Ronald McDonald House Charities® Atlantic (RMHC Atlantic) is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for an energetic and dedicated Family Room Coordinator in Moncton, NB. This is an in-person postion located inside The Moncton Hospital.

This is a contract position running from September 2024 to September 2025, offering a unique chance to make a profound impact on the lives of families we serve in the family room.

About the Role:

As the Family Room Coordinator for Ronald McDonald House Atlantic Canada (RMHC Atlantic), you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily operations and activities of the Ronald McDonald Family Room (RMFR) program at The Moncton Hospital. You will ensure the smooth and compassionate delivery of our services to Family Room guests.

Your responsibilities will include:

Guest Relations: Providing support and advocacy to families visiting the Family Room, ensuring their needs are met and maintaining a balance between individual care and the effective functioning of the Family Room.

Volunteer Management: Recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining volunteers, while fostering strong relationships with the Moncton Hospital Volunteer Department.

Family Room Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintaining the facility, monitoring supplies, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

Home for Dinner Program: Managing the program to provide warm, healthy meals to families after long days at the hospital.

Communications: Effectively communicating with all stakeholders, addressing concerns promptly, and maintaining strong relationships with families, volunteers, staff, and donors.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience prefered
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Collaborative skills for working with Hospital Personnel
  • High level of responsibility with a warm, outgoing, and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work with families in times of stress or crisis
  • Experience in training and facilitation
  • Excellent community relations and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Hours of Work:

Full time - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 Hrs/wk)

Flexibility in hours is required, with on-call duties while the Family Room is open
