Prestige Homes is recruiting a Mechanical or Electrical Technologist to join our engineering and design team at our manufacturing facility in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team who is responsible for designing and organizing the necessary information to bring a customer's home to life.
As a Mechanical or Electrical Technologist, you will provide design and details per appropriate codes and client's requests using AutoCAD and Revit. Coordination with other designers and departments will be necessary to generate accurate and complete information for the production facility. You will participate in code analysis, calculations, take offs, create specifications and detailed drawings. Additionally, you will be required to manage project files, organizing, and distributing them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Working directly with Architectural team to understand customer's needs.
- Preparing necessary plumbing, ventilation or electrical shop drawings, specifications, or other details to fabricate residential and commercial buildings per code and design specifications.
- Preparing hydraulic load, ventilation, energy efficiency, electrical load, or heat loss calculations.
- Preparing quantity take-offs and hardcopy drawing package for factory construction.
- Performing quality checks of drawings & details for codes & standards compliance
- Collaborate & innovate across departments to improve accuracy and efficiency of drawings, details, and other information.
- Provide technical assistance to sales, procurement, factory, service, and other departments as required.
- Other duties related to design and engineering as required.
- Training or equivalent experience in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a relevant field.
- Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems as well as Energy Efficiency as it relates to residential construction.
- Knowledge of building, plumbing, energy and electrical codes and standards
- Experience with estimating and quantity takeoffs
- Strong attention to detail, communication, planning and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Office suite with experience using Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Revit and/or other graphic and design software.
