TriNav Fisheries Consultants Inc. (TFC) is a professional fisheries and business consulting firm operating throughout Atlantic Canada and Eastern Arctic, and a proud division of the TriNav Group of Companies.
Specializing in the fisheries sector, our team includes experts in production efficiency analysis, seafood market development, asset appraisals, fisheries science and strategic planning. We are looking for an individual with experience and knowledge of the commercial fishing industry on the east coast of Canada. The successful candidate will work out of our Dartmouth, NS office.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Assisting in growing TFC's business and presence in the commercial fishing;
- Analyzing data, developing conclusions and presenting findings in graphs and/or spreadsheets for presentation in studies and/or reports;
- Conducting consultations and research in the field with clients and stakeholders;
- Assisting in proposal development and soliciting new business;
- Attending business development meetings with prospective clients;
- Drafting reports based on research, analysis and consultations;
- Attending industry or government meetings and conferences to understand programs and/or emerging issues that may impact on future business opportunities;
- Preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to clients and industry organizations;
- Conducting economic, business and scientific assessments for the commercial fishery sectors through literature reviews, internet research, stakeholder consultations, business development etc.;
- Monitoring various information sources to keep current on the latest developments in the fishery, marketplace, and government policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum five years of experience working in fisheries based field;
- Strong understanding of the seafood industry;
- Familiarity with the indigenous commercial fishery;
- A degree in a fisheries science or policy related field is preferred but a relevant business degree will be considered;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess excellent writing and analytical thinking skills.
