Responsibilities:

Eric G. Lambert School (EGLS) is a K-12 private school of 140 students and 19 teaching units located in the community of Churchill Falls, NL. It is operated by NL Hydro - Churchill Falls and follows the prescribed curriculum of the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education.

As the School Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing counselling services to EGLS as well as providing support to the school-based service delivery team delivering services to students. Your counselling services will involve both career and personal counselling.

Reporting to the Principal, you will provide leadership to school staff, service to students, implement assessments, and participate in response planning for possible critical incidents/traumatic events.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will have completed a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology/Counselling Psychology or equivalent from a recognized university. A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate or eligibility to receive a Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate (minimum Certificate V preferred) will be considered an asset. Knowledge and experience in facilitating various psycho-educational assessments would be an asset as well as experience in a similar role.
Please note this position is a full-time position; however a fly in and fly out rotational model would also be considered.
